Sarah, sales director at closed

STATEMENT cultivates its difference in the choice of materials and the expression of meaningful creativity. It is this uniqueness that our customers, like Sarah, are looking for. Mother of two children and Sales Manager for the ready-to-wear brand named Closed, she is passionate about her job. Always on the lookout for new trends and emerging brands, this Parisian by birth and American at heart is very attached to the jewellery she proudly wears every day.

How did you hear about STATEMENT?

"Through social networks. One day I came across the My Way ring and it was as if it spoke to me. Like when you walk into a shop and say to yourself "this dress is mine, this is the one and not the other".

Jewellery is like a tattoo to me, it belongs to us and is connected to our soul.

When it comes to jewellery, I don't have a classic approach at all. I like pieces that nobody knows yet, I mix them with statutory pieces, others more ethnic, vintage and contemporary. With my job, it's essential to be on the cutting edge and I was very happy to be one of the first to know about STATEMENT. So I talked about it a lot around me, especially to my friends in the trade."

What STATEMENT piece are you wearing?

"At the moment I'm only wearing the My Way ring in semi-paved silver but I've spotted others! Like the Stairway XL all silver earring. I wear my ring on my index finger every day, even on holiday. It has become my "Best Friend Ever."

Why did you choose silver?

"The combination of silver and stones is a strong symbol for me. It's like combining something simple and primal with something extremely luxurious and shiny. It reminds me of a form of passage, of a rite, from the shadow to the light."

How do you feel different when you wear this ring?

"It embodies everything I love and if I could have designed it, it would have been the same. I received it at a special time, a turning point in my life. So this jewel marks the end of one story and the beginning of a new one. It is like a shield that expresses strength, the strength of women today, their place in society. We don't realise how much pressure is on our shoulders as mothers, wives, friends, employees... The mental load is enormous. So I think we need to do ourselves some good with little things that we can lean on, that can comfort us, like a piece of jewellery for example."

How do they evolve over time?

"I like it when my jewellery is a little marked, when it starts to have a patina. Silver is malleable and can quickly take on a few scratches but that's what I like. My ring is part of my daily life. I wear it every day, even on holiday, no matter how I'm dressed."

What is your favourite piece of jewellery and why?

"All my jewellery has a story, whether it is beautiful or sad. I have some that are related to my children, others to professional milestones. But I think that today the ones I like the most are the ones I gave myself. This My Way ring is one of my favourite pieces because it marks the end of a story and the beginning of a new adventure."
